We are one of relatively few firms authorised to hold client money and client assets and hence fall under the scope of the European directive (“MiFID”) requiring enhanced reporting. Internet Communications
In order to maintain the security of its systems, protect its staff and detect fraud and other crimes, Dewhurst Torevell reserves the right to monitor all internet communications, including web and email traffic, into and out of its domains. Monitoring includes checks for, but not limited to; viruses and other malignant code, criminal activity, and use or content which is unauthorised as being in breach of the Group Dignity at Work and Information Security policies.
Compensation – Financial Services Compensation Scheme
Investment business:
The Financial Services Compensation Scheme set up under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 covers your investments. It covers you if we are unable to meet our obligations in relation to your investments. Most types of investment business are covered for 100% of the first £30,000 and 90% of the next £20,000, so the maximum compensation is £48,000.
Deposits:
The Financial Services Compensation Scheme set up under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 covers cash deposits up to £50,000 per institution. Most people who make deposits, including individuals and small firms, are covered.
